A large multi level plant room at a key London NHS Hospital presented numerous engineering and safety challenges in which FirePro was able to positively contribute to mitigating the risk of fire.
Chelsea & Westminster Hospital is a major key London healthcare facility. A full upgrade of the mechanical and electrical plant with limited footprint space meant that the only way to fit all of the plant equipment in was to build a full mezzanine steel grid floor arrangement meaning that the enclosure was still only one entire space and not two separate spaces, therefore FirePro agent density calculations were based on the entire volume. This walkthrough allows you to explore both levels in which you will see the FirePro generators installed on upper and lower floors. Another unique feature of the system is the incorporation of the Securiton ADW linear heat detection pipework, which acts as one detection zone. FirePro UK worked closely with Securiton to ensure that the correct system design calculations were undertaken including interfacing the Kentec Sigma XT panel. The opposing detection zone is conventional Apollo smoke detection. The system was designed installed commissioned and handed over by FAFS fire systems, a FirePro ambassador since 2016. FirePro is an LPCB certificated fire suppression product and a wholly owned subsidiary business of HALMAPLC.
