The compact, and simple to install FirePro generators were installed directly within the UV printing press room. This provided effective room-flood suppression without consuming valuable floor space or requiring structural modifications to the press.
FirePro is effective against Class A fires involving cardboard and paper, Class B fires involving inks and coatings, and electrical fires, making it ideally suited to the mixed fire risks present within UV printing machinery, without requiring air-tight integrity orover-pressure venting, this combined with FirePro’s minimal requirement for annual maintenance and 15-year lifespan made FirePro the right fit for the job.
As a result:
• The fire was contained at an early stage
• Damage was limited to the immediate ignition area
• There was no water damage or secondary fire spread
• Smoke and heat damage were kept to an absolute minimum
• The rapid suppression prevented what could otherwise have developed into a significant machine fire and prolonged production shutdown
Due to the simple, non-pressurised design of FirePro generators, replacement was straightforward and did not require specialist lifting equipment or extended shutdown procedures. The system was quickly recommissioned and returned to full operational status.This allowed client’s business to resume production with minimal downtime and negligible impact on mission-critical business operations, protecting customer commitments and avoiding significant financial loss.
