Bartec Fire & Security are part of the GA Barnie group of companies, based in Aberdeenshire, and recently completed the design, installation and commissioning of a FirePro fire suppression system for the containerised fire protection of a lithium-ion battery storage facility. The facility is custom designed for their client Verlume, a specialised world leader in subsea batteries and power management systems.
The battery storage facility houses up to 400 lithium-ion batteries, which are then picked for performance testing and verification prior to their incorporation into the final product that is eventually submerged into the Ocean up to 50M depth.
We are delighted that Bartec Fire & Security have shared a selection of their installation images which includes for very early warning aspirating smoke detection system, remotely monitored CCTV, FirePro fire suppression system as well as water deluge sprinkler inlet valve system.
The clients robust fire strategy was further strengthened by using FirePro fire suppression technology, which was chosen because of its LPCB certification, 3-year warrantee, and 15-year lifecycle.
Our Managing Director, Tony Hanley was offered the opportunity to see both the installation and the Verlume facility. Tony commented ‘The team at GA Barnie Fire & Security have made a very good job of the entire works, and we appreciate the opportunity to work with product savvy fire systems specialists. It’s also great to see that UK engineering is alive and well as both GA Barnie and Verlume have a lot to be proud of with this state of the art technology.'
