MD's Desk - Charity Shoot Day 2025!

November 12, 2025

The UK Burns Camp Charity organises residential camps and day events for young burn survivors, providing vital emotional and social support to help rebuild self-esteem, confidence, and a sense of belonging. Although officially registered with the Charity Commission in 2012, the organisation has roots going back to 1999, when its founding members began supporting burn-injured children through similar initiatives. Many of the young people they support face years of complex surgeries, from reconstructive procedures to prosthetics, often struggling with an altered body image and feelings of isolation. The camps offer a safe and understanding space where children can connect with others who share similar experiences, talk openly about their challenges, and form lifelong friendships. Operating nationally, the charity brings together clubs and groups that may not have the resources to organise camps on their own, ensuring no child misses out on this vital part of their rehabilitation journey. Additionally, the charity extends its impact into schools through participation in safeguarding mentorship.

The venue welcomed participants with a light breakfast on arrival, followed by all-day refreshments and a provided lunch, creating a warm and engaging atmosphere. Fourteen teams of four took part in the clay shooting, adding a friendly competitive edge to the day, with prizes awarded after the event. We are delighted to share that the event exceeded its original fundraising target of £5,000, raising an incredible £8,000 thanks to the overwhelming support from everyone involved. Donations remain open for those who wish to contribute to this life-changing cause. Importantly, 100% of the funds raised go directly to the UK Burns Camp Charity — no one involved receives payment, and the organisation operates entirely on a voluntary basis. The charity receives no government funding, meaning every penny donated directly supports the planning and delivery of residential camps and day events for young burn survivors.

One of the most rewarding parts of supporting the UK Burns Camp Charity is seeing the incredible transformation in the children who attend — many arrive feeling nervous, anxious, or having experienced bullying, and leave with confidence, new friendships, a new found excitement for life, and a real sense of belonging. We at FirePro UK are so proud to support such a meaningful cause and would like to express a heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended, donated, and made the day a success. We hope to see even more of you at next year’s camp, so be sure to look out for the date!
