Welcome, colleagues and friends, to the inaugural post of the “MD’s Desk” blog/vlog. It’s a bit of blog writing (No AI, as it will only spit total drivel out) and or just me talking to camera on almost anything that sparks conversation, interest, or even rage.
This is intended as abroad church of my thoughts, updates, and reflections on the ever-evolving landscape that is fire systems engineering world, as well as a rake of other happenings on our planet. Whether you’re a specifier, influencer, end user, an approved FirePro Ambassador or just a curious visitor, my intention is to provide a source of insight, even occasional controversy, some inspiration, and connection.
Why This Blog/Vlog?
We live in times of constant change and rapid innovation; to me, open communication is now more important than ever. The platform is for sharing my views and thoughts on what’s happening, keep you informed about our strategic direction, celebrate the good stuff, challenge the norm (someone must), and spark dialogue. Please don’t hesitate to join the conversation by emailing your thoughts. We can’t all be right, or wrong.
What not to expect
· Boring industry ‘me too tripe', 'death by PowerPoint' or mind numbing statements treating the reader like a complete imbecile.
What you can expect
· Industry perspectives: Challenges, and opportunities shaping our sector and the wider economy.
· Unsung heroes: After 40 odd years, I have met and admire some great people, not in a Steve Jobs guru type of way, but people that have stayed the path, done right, been involved in businesses and products, that for me, shine through for the right reasons, so I thought giving this some airtime will be worthwhile.
· Business insights & challenges: Overcoming obstacles, growing resilience and forever aiming to always be on the front foot, including true events from my own journey, some will make you laugh, some will make you raise an eyebrow. Rest assured its been by no means a walk in the park.
· What motivates me, or keeps me awake at night.
· Company News: Announcements, milestones, and progress updates from across our business.

I’m keen to use this blog/vlog to connect more closely with you all, to talk openly, listen, and to make a positive contribution. It may not be everyone’s ‘cup of tea’, that’s fine, each to their own.
