Three battery storage safes labeled BS0441E, BS0441F, and BS0441K, each with different locking mechanisms: a keypad, a digital touchscreen, and a key lock.

Battery Fighter BS0440

The BS0440 Series has been designed for use in domestic and commercial environments for the safe storage and charging of Lithium-Ion batteries. Rechargeable batteries presentmany risks including thermal runaway caused by a rise in temperature, impact damage or faulty manufacture. This can result in the battery igniting and causing a fire explosion that can be extremely difficult to extinguish and cause major damage to life and buildings.

Suitable for the storage and charging of the following battery types – power tools, garden tools,e-bikes/scooters, drones, laptop, mobile phone, plus your standard household rechargeable batteries AAA, AA, Type C, Type D, 9V.

HOW MANY BATTERIES CAN I CHARGE?

Depends on size of battery. Wattage up to 3000W per circuit or 13A per circuit. Draw rate can’t becalculated due to fluctuations in draw. Use a peak flow meter to determine.

HOW CAN I CHARGE MORE BATTERIES?

Upgrade number of charging circuits. Easier in non-certified safes or upgrade to 3 phase.

CAN I MONITOR THE CONDITION OF THE SAFE?

Yes, use Easthouse safe monitor.

IS THIS PART OF YOUR INSTALLATION?

No.

HOW MANY BATTERIES CAN I STORE?

Certified rates are tested in Wh or kWh. Uncertified are best guess. Don’t forget physical size andshelf load limits.

DO I NEED SUPPRESSION?

Certified safes are tested with the suppression systems fitted but deactivated, therefore they playno part in the test, the cabinet must withstand the test without them. Part of the test standardrequires all batteries inside to ignite. Any batteries that don’t are removed from the total capacity. They may however reduce the overall effect of any combustion and even prevent other batteriesfrom ignition. They do take up space.

CAN I CONNECT MY CABINET TO THE BUILDING ALARM SYSTEM?

Only if a control system is fitted to the safe. We have had 3 versions.

CAN THE CABINETS BE ADAPTED FOR FORCED OR FILTERED VENTILATION?

Yes, an extra connection can be made in the base of the cabinet within the certification rules.
