The Crumlin Road Gaol is the only Victorian era prison remaining in Northern Ireland and closed its doors in 1996. The venue is now a visitor attraction, film & TV location set and conference centre.
We were delighted to support MCL Fire Belfast & Dublin, who laid on a first class day comprising of four guest speakers to present their alternate respective fire suppression technologies.
Attending delegates included Airport Fire Services, Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue, Marine Coastguard Agency, Housing Associations, Marine Architects & Insurance market.
The rain didn't stop the live demonstrations in the gaol courtyard. MCL have designed and built an innovative mobile stainless steel cabinet to showcase both FirePro and Ansul cooker hood suppression in extinguishing action.
The FirePro presentation focused on demonstrating that besides compliance to prescriptive standards, FirePro has a wealth of versatility in protecting a variety of risks in order to prevent a small fire escalating into a disastrous event.
We showcased numerous installations as well as product advantages, certifications (including LPCB), and finished with a case study on a real fire event within an NHS premises demonstrating how rapid the system detected and deployed, thus minimising disruption to patient care services and saving many thousands of pounds.
MD of MCL Fire, Dermot McLarnon commented "today has been a real success. Our delegates learned about the four technologies we presented, and saw a live demonstration of FirePro in action, which was impressive. We completed the day with an excellent tour of an important part of Northern Ireland's history, however, the icing on the cake was that, as a result of the presentations, we were delighted to also receive some sales enquiries on the day !"
